Best Covers

A week ago, I told you that The Half Eight's cover of Shut Up and Dance is my current favourite cover. However, it still has some competition before becoming my favourite of all time; and I wish to share some of these competitors with you.

I do have a tiny favour to ask first though, please? My awesome friend Rebekah has the chance to meet her favourite band, but only if you click here! One click means one vote- so click away please <3

These aren't necessarily in any particular order, just a list of covers I keep on going back to.

I could have included almost every Live Lounge performance but that'd take far too long! Instead I've picked 2 which stand out most for me

This one's old school as heck, but I am still absolutely in love!

ok, I lied- I'm including 3 Live Lounges because I can't miss this one out...

and can we just pretend that Taylor Swift's cover of Riptide and Jessie Ware's cover of Jealous is there too please?

Despite my love/hate relationship with some YouTubers, a lot of great music comes from there. Two highlights for me, Dodie Clarke and Carrie Hope Fletcher.

Dodie's done so many beautiful covers (on top of stunning beautiful originals), that it's so difficult to just pick one. The one that sticks out for me however, even above All About You, I Wish I Was a Punk Rocker and Blank Space, is Hey There Delilah. It's, I think, the first video I saw of her's and pretty much the reason I stuck around.

It actually makes me a little sad that for Carrie, I haven't picked I'm A Believer but, there is of course, only one appropriate video when talking about such a musical goddess

Finally, there's only one person who can cover a Beyonce song and it sound better than the original. Beyonce.

I get that some people don't want to have anything to do with the film due to the abusive and inaccurate manner BDSM relationships, but goodness this song is hot!

  5. As a spin instructor with a penchant for punk music, I use lots of familiar radio songs covered by punk bands. It's a genre worth looking into. Me First & the Gimme Gimmes can perk up *any* party mix.
