Hello 'People of the Internet World', it occurred to me recently that in the year and a few months I've been writing on here, I've never once taken a break. And if you don't mind, I'd like to bank up all the holidays I've missed out on, since last year, and take a few weeks out.

A Chat With... We're No Heroes
I knew I was going to thoroughly enjoy this interview when, upon sending an interview request, the email I had back was signed off with the 'Ok hand' emoji. This initial instinct was confirmed after reading the answers which were sent back to me and made me smile just as much as their music. Welcome... We're No Heroes

Dear...
Woah, this is odd! Vicky, posting on a Sunday?! Well chums, I have a new project. And it's a soppy one. As some of you may know, I turn 18 on Saturday which, I'm making a pretty big deal out of considering it's technically the start of adult life (despite the fact I celebrated earlier in the year in Disneyland and never plan on actually growing up). On here, I guess I wanted to get nostalgic about my childhood so came up with a week long project that I hope you're going to enjoy

Summertime Songs
"Jeez, it's hot" said the entirety of Britain in union on Tuesday morning. Unlike most, I don't see what all the fuss is about. 2 months ago, we were complaining that it was cold, now it's too hot? Anyway, this sudden burst of heat means there's an odd choice of music on the radio at the moment. Apparently warmth is an excuse to play songs which would not be accepted at any other point in the year, generally europop, cheese and anything with 'sun' in the title- my favourite of which, I shall share with you now...

Far Too Much Information
This weekend, we spent an awful long time in the garage, emptying out old toys and books from when we were little, which left me feeling massively nostalgic. Instead of writing another post about "Growing Up" (because you've all read those posts, right?) I thought I'd get nostalgic about the progression of this blog. I've looked through my first few posts and I think I've found one that will be perfect for this

Mind VS Body
Today, I want to tell you a story. There are two characters- Mind and Body- who are not only the best of friends, but the worst of enemies. Mind lives inside of Body and has an awful lot of control over Body's actions. Unfortunately, Body cannot always do everything Mind wants her to do, and that's where problems arise...

A Chat With...
Eagle eyed readers may have noticed that I have a new page. The old 'Disney Diary' has been replaced by 'A Chat With...' which is a brand new project I've been working on for a little while. It's music based, so episodes will be uploaded on a Friday- however not every Friday, so if you prefer playlist posts, don't worry- they aren't going anywhere.

Freedom!
Finally, after months of sleep deprivation, multiple breakdowns and an uncountable number of packs of toffees, A levels are over. 3:30pm this afternoon, my black pen wrote the final half-equation it's, hopefully, ever going to write and the wave of exhaustion smacked me right across my face. Some people tend to either claim to not revise, or really shy away from telling others to what extent they truly tried for their exams, which I don't really understand. I guess it's not seen as a "cool" thing to do but, in 10 years time, when you're earning triple their salary, what's "cool" then?

How Did We End Up Here?!
10th June 2015- a few hours after the most horrific exam of my life, and filled with mild panic because my Dad was still stuck in traffic in my car, my sister and I bundled ourselves into Mum's car. Covered in incomplete make-up, possible odd shoes and a leather jacket, despite it being 900 degrees outside, we reversed roughly 3 metres out the drive, before Dad rolled round the corner in the car I'm insured to drive. Back up the drive we went, quick change of car- and we were off!

What Do I Like About Me?
I don't normally do tags. If I'm honest, I just don't find they particularly original and I prefer to be a bit more creative with my ideas- that's not to say they're all bad, just not for me. Anyway, Don'tBurstMyBubble may have completely changed my opinion of them with the 'What I Like About Myself' tag, which I think, is just flipping marvelous!

How Big, How Blue, How Beautiful
A short while ago, I wrote about a whole load of albums and music that I want but can't afford. Considering exam stress and general crapiness, it felt only right to treat myself to Florence and the Machine's new album. Plus, I write a music blog so it's just research, right?!

i don't even have a name for this playlist
I'm not going to lie to you- it's currently 9:15pm. I've been up and working since 6am, stopping just for snacks and tea. Therefore this is being written, hopefully 20 minutes before it's uploaded. Therefore, it's effectively going to be a whole load of crap I've recently been listening to, all put together in a playlist that, is so mismatched, I can't even think of a name for it. If you're one of the few who actually com here for credible music opinions, I recommend leaving now- come back next week. But for now, here are some songs I like.

Too old for a Disney film?
Well, last Monday's blog post blew up didn't it?! Goodness me- I'm quite gutted that I'm not one of these daily vlogger people, who seem to film every single second of their life, because I would have killed to see the look on my own face when I logged in to see that my 'Sad' post had about 5 times the normal total view count, after just a couple of days (thanks Chris.. ^.^ ) Thank you so much to every single person who either left a nice comment on there, or text/messaged me about it etc..You're all wonderful and deserve all the cheesecake and tea. After last weeks long, emotional mess, let's keep it super short and lighthearted this week...

Farewell Fearne
We all have that one person- not necessarily the person that we aspire to be or the person we take bucket-loads of inspiration from, but the person who we have uttermost respect for; the person we'd love to sit with in a room for an hour and talk about their story, their journey and learn about their life because they're just so fascinating, and you know you could talk to them for hours. Mine is Fearne Cotton.

Sad.
For a while, I wasn't okay. Things weren't good and I struggled to find happiness, even when everything around me was incredibly positive. And even now, I'm not great- but it's getting better and now that I'm finally realizing this, I feel it's my duty to you lovely lot, to advise you on how to cope with these types of situations.

"Real Music"
"Real Music" is a phrase that gets chucked around an awful lot, more often than not, although not exclusively and certainly not always, by rock/indie/alternative bands and their fans. And it's normally aimed towards more hip hop and dance records which angers me greatly. Surely if it's music, it's music- why dispute about the legitimacy?!

Dealing with Exam Stress
Exams are blooming stressful! Essentially, everything you've learnt over years of studying and homework and classes etc. all comes down to 1 exam- the results of which, for most people, determine a heck of a lot regarding their future. That shit's scary- and stress is inevitable. I can't take that stress away from you, and in all honesty, I don't really know how to cope with it myself, but what I can do is offer advice that helps ease it a little...

Miss Fletcher
Happy Friday all! This will probably be a bit of a quicker post than normal (but still just as fabulous) because I've had my first- and most stressful- exam today and what I really want to do is curl into a ball of sleep, for roughly 80 years as that's how long it's probably going to take for my blood pressure to return to normal and for my heart to stop palpitating ^.^

The Royal Baby
Okay, so a little confession.. I thought it was Sunday and considering I normally upload on Monday's so have absolutely no idea what I'm about to write about. I've just had a quick scour of BBC News and Buzzfeed, it turns out the Royal Baby's a pretty big thing- so lets have a chat about that shall we?!

Musical Wish List
My iTunes is such a flop at the moment! There are so many albums I want to buy but, being a poor student, I don't have the money. Instead, I quite like to endlessly scroll the iTunes store for hours, looking at all the awesome music that I can't afford. I know, I know that I could just use Spotify instead but I don't bond with it like I do other streaming sites etc.. Maybe I'll give it another try soon!

Them Ones Which Inspire Me (Part 2)
You may remember, a few months back, I wrote a post about those who inspire me from day to day. In that post I focused on female role models and said I'd wheel out one about male inspirations if I'm ever seriously lacking motivation/time... Well, I've been up since 6am, it's now 11pm and I honestly haven't had a spare 30 minutes all day to do some writing, so here is that post!

Another Revision Playlist?!
Right, this'll be my last revision based post for a while because there's really not much else to say! I popped up a Revision Playlist post which seemed to go down really well a couple of weeks ago, and received a comment from postingvprojects (who you should totally check out!) asking for some more current songs. Well, your wish is my command!

Revision Tips
Hello there! I feel like I've not sat down and written a blog post for ages- my last few have been scheduled whilst I celebrated my 18th in Disneyland ^.^ I might write a post or two about it if anyone is interested but it's bottom of my priorities at the moment- you can check out pictures on my twitter and instagram (@vickywright_x) As I mentioned in a playlist, earlier in the month, exams and revision are fully on now and a few of you- who am I kidding? One person...- said that revision tips would be really useful, so I shall attempt to share some of my wisdom from my 5 years of exams with you

Make Your Voice Heard
The UK General Election is approaching. And I want to vote. I have strong opinions about certain parties policies and I would like my voice to be heard; I'd like to be able to have a say in my future. Unfortunately, I'm about 3 months too young- which really sucks.

Revision Playlist
As I'm sure many of you are aware, it's early revision season- which sucks. I'm in the final year of my A levels so I study 3 subjects and have about 9 exams coming up (if I've counted correctly). I'm mentioned lots of times, how much of a music lover I am, so during long revision days, I do love a good playlist which I wish to share with you. Now, I wouldn't recommend this say if, you're testing yourself on a topic or focusing really hard on something which requires 100% of your attention, but for those periods where you're just sat going through notes, making mind maps etc. I think this should be perfect...

Sayings Which Make Me Happy
I've noticed lately how Monday's have turned into either a super lighthearted chat or a much more serious post about a topic I'm massively passionate about. I fancy merging them both today and sharing a few of the quotes and sayings I have saved in my photos for when I need a bit of a positive boost or motivation ^.^

Big Weekend Line Up- So far...
Tickets for Radio 1's Big Weekend went on sale this week, and I could not be more excited. Unfortunately, I won't be going because it's miles away and I'm poor as heck- but that won't stop me spending every second of the weekend, live streaming every single performance by every single artist. I'd quite like to comment on the current announced line-up if you're keen because so far, it's right up my street!

Saying "No"
Before I begin, I just want to quickly say thank you for the lovely comments about my Disney post last week- I know they're not always everyone's cup of tea so it really does make me smile when y'all say nice things. So the biggest thank you to every single one of you! Right, more serious again today- it's about saying no. And not always expecting "yes" as an answer.

Chaos and the Calm- Review
I've got a lovely review for you today. This week, Chaos and the Calm by the lovely James Bay was released and I could not contain my excitement. I must have set around 5/6 alarms on my phone just to make sure that I was definitely awake when the album was finally released.. Obviously, it didn't disappoint and I wish to share with you my most favourite parts of it.

Disney Films!
I did a similar post to this when I first started my blog, where I wrote about my favourite Disney Films. And I'd quite like to do one again, if you're keen? I've done a few serious posts lately and I think we all just need a bit of lighthearted, Disney magic to put us all at ease. Plus Tom, Gi and Carrie Hope Fletcher have all been discussing their top Disney films during a few 'Dear Tom/Gi/Carrie' videos so I thought I'd join in the fun!

The Internet
As you may have gathered, by the fact I've not shut up about it, our WiFi is broken. I'm not one of those people who can't live without the internet- often we go to the countryside for walks and pubs and out in the wilderness of Yorkshire, the internet does not exist and I cope fine. But I've massively noticed, now that I don't have easy internet access, how much other people rely on me having the internet. And this really sucks...

Another Playlist...
Once again, this post is brought to you via atrocious internet connection and the joy of scheduled uploading... Thank you for being so patient with me whilst the internet is rubbish! I know these posts are shorter than normal but I promise- there is nothing I can do about it. We have rung the company (who I shan't name out of politeness) countless times and they really are not responding. I think I'll write a rant-y post for Monday about the whole situation because it really is quite unbelievable how ignorant a company can be, but for now, I'll stick to a short, sweet playlist of songs I've been loving driving to lately- I hope that will do until I
can actually access this blog from my writing desk...

Decisions and Influences
This is going to have to be a real short post today which I'm very sorry about. We're having the internet changed in our house, meaning there is no wifi- therefore, in order to get this post up, I've had to do a 40 minute run (hi-vis and everything) to a darling family member's house in order to use theirs and I want to get home before it gets dark. I guess really, I just wanted to have a quick chat with you about college/uni and growing up because you have to make lots of choices in your teen years and I know how daunting it can be to feel like your going into it, completely alone.

Thanks Zane
Last night was a very sad night. One of my biggest radio inspirations and the person who's show calms me down after a tough day, left Radio 1 after 12 years. Known for his passion for music, iconic interviews and talent in discovering new music, Zane Lowe's been a hero of mine for as long as I can remember and it was so tough to see him finally go.

Change... and How Not To Deal With It
I don't like change. Anything different to my normal schedule makes me feel rather uneasy and uncomfortable and I'm just not too great at handling it. Lately though things have been changing and I've realized, there really isn't any way of dealing with them other than just getting on with it.

THE BRITS 2015
Considering it's music post Friday and The Brit Awards happened this week, surely it'd be rude to not discuss it? Being a big music fan, for me this is normally one of the most exciting nights of the year for me but I have to say, this year wasn't that great...

Should We Talk About Sex?
After the release of 50 Shades Of Grey, there has obviously been lots of reviews and discussions about it. A very common theme among these reviews is a list of disclaimers, warning the reader that the word 'sex' might be mentioned *gasp* Although I don't agree at all with the abuse shown in the film (not BDSM, but the lack of consent), I don't think that making sex a 'taboo' topic is necessarily helping promote a healthy discussion, and I wish to discuss this if you feel comfortable enough doing so..

The Liebster Award Again...
If you've been round this blog for a while, you may remember The Liebster Award that I did a good few month ago- well I've been nominated again. At first, I wasn't going to do it because I don't want to be repetitive but then I received 3 more nominations so I shall just combine all 4 into one giant post. After this though, I will be doing no more Liebster Awards again so please save your nomination for someone else ^.^

Current Favourite Songs
I used to write posts like this fairly often but since starting my music project, I've not written one in a while. I figured it'd be quite nice to share some of the songs I've been particularly loving lately, along with links to them on YouTube so you can check them out if you want?

Work your arse off...
I'm not sure if this post makes me sound like a narky, moody individual or not but it's something I've wanted to write about for quite a while. Not even necessarily write about, just talk about really. You may have noticed in my 'Them Ones Which Inspire Me' post that most of my inspirations inspire me because of the amount of hard work and effort they put into what they create. And that's exactly what I want to talk about- hard work.

Official Chart Show- Clara Amfo
You may have heard that, as of last Sunday, the official Chart Show is no longer presented by Jameela Jamil, but by the equally gorgeous Clara Amfo. Being a big radio and music fan, I of course was listening to Clara's first show at the weekend. I admittedly had high expectations and it's safe to say, I was not disappointed

Let It Go
I think today'll be a quick post today- I have a fairly long review planned for my Friday music post and I don't want to waste too much of your time. I just want to bring a few nice words of encouragement and hope to your day, in case it's not as great as it should be...

My Top Albums
I've done a similar post to this for my favourite Albums of 2014 however this time, I'm not restricted by a year. I just want to discuss some of my favourite music albums if that's alright? I've always been much more of an album person than a singles person so it's been really difficult to try and narrow down my favourites but I have done, and now I shall share them with you...

Them Ones Which Inspire Me
I'd quite like to write about some of the people who motivate me and inspire me to continue to work hard if that's okay with you? I have too many to talk about in just one post so I've split this into 2 categories- girls and boys. Not because I'm being sexist or anything similar, just because they're the only 2 categories which created an even divide between the lot..

The Music Tag
What better way to start a music project than with a good old music tag ey?! I took the questions from the internet so I've not specifically been tagged- therefore don't see it fair for me tag anyone in particuler. Growing Up Again (+ News)
I did a similar post to this just over 7 months ago when I just started this blog and had no where near as many views as I do now. I'll link that here in case (like most people), you haven't read it so you can have a lil' insight before starting this. I would quite like to discuss growing up again as it's something I've really noticed lately and I'm equally scared and excited and just need to get it all out

Albums of 2014..
I like music a lot. And this year there was quite a few decent albums which I've really been enjoying and fancied sharing with you if that's okay? I'll let you know a bit about the album, my favourite song from it and a mark out of 5
(I should probably note here that none of them have 5/5 purely because I don't distribute full marks out easily.. You have to properly earn them!)
