Farewell Fearne

We all have that one person- not necessarily the person that we aspire to be or the person we take bucket-loads of inspiration from, but the person who we have uttermost respect for; the person we'd love to sit with in a room for an hour and talk about their story, their journey and learn about their life because they're just so fascinating, and you know you could talk to them for hours. Mine is Fearne Cotton.

As I'm certain most of you are aware, Fearne left Radio 1 today after almost 10 years at the station and what a 10 years they were?! I've practically grown up listening to Fearne, when she started at the station I was 7 and this year I'm leaving for university! How did that happen?! I don't think you realize how big a part of your daily life people become and Fearne has been with me, calming me down through exam stress with beautiful Live Lounges, making me laugh when the day's really dark and grey, and teaching a nation, no matter what time it is, cake is always the answer for 10 years now and I'm truly gutted she's leaving.

She's such, as stressed by Dave Grohl, an absolutely beautiful lady- inside and out- and I'm truly going to miss hearing such a good egg on the radio. Throughout the years she's introduced millions to some of the best (and now biggest!) artists and her love and passion for music is so incredibly infectious- I can't honestly put into words how wonderful she is but I hope I've gone some way to explaining how much she is like a real life princess.

I can honestly say, from the very bottom of my heart, I truly will miss hearing her beautiful voice on the airwaves everyday and I wish her all the best for the future- obviously she'll do an incredible job, no matter what!

I'm sorry this probably means nothing to you foreign readers, but it would be wrong to not dedicate my Friday music post to such a huge inspiration of mine. I'll link her last show here so you can have a listen and know exactly what I'm on about ^.^
